How to find a new hardware supplier
The company behind a new generation of hydroponic equipment and a new class of equipment called directv equipment is looking for a new owner.
The company, RDO Group Inc., said it is seeking to sell its $25 million RDO Equipment Group, a unit that includes hydroponics, vacuum pumps, drip irrigation equipment, equipment for hydropower and industrial applications, as well as refrigerated and freezer equipment.
The $25-million purchase was part of a $130-million sale last year by the company, which bought RDO equipment from the company’s parent, Energizer Inc. for about $8 billion.
The sale comes after the company bought a $10-billion deal by the Texas-based company to buy RDO’s business.
RDO said it would provide financial support for the purchase.
“The RDO Holdings unit will continue to operate independently as part of Energizex,” the company said in a statement.
A spokeswoman for the Texas Legislature’s Commerce Committee, which oversees the sale, said it had not yet reviewed the transaction.
“I’m not going to comment on this transaction until it’s completed,” said spokeswoman Jessica Trombetta.
In January, Energex, the Houston-based food processing and packaging company that made the RDO-Energizer purchase, said the Texas deal would create about 200 jobs.
The company said RDO had more than 2,000 employees worldwide and a presence in 17 countries.
Energize x has said it plans to spend $30 billion in the next three years to expand its operations and expand its products, including food, beverages, tobacco, energy, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.
