What’s in the latest Tesla and Tesla Model 3 cars?
Tesla Motors has confirmed to us that the company has been working on a range of new electric vehicles with the help of third-party partners, but it isn’t clear yet whether the new models will be the company’s first-ever mass-market vehicles.
It’s also unclear if the company plans to unveil any new models until after the 2020 Tesla Model S, which will be a more traditional car in that respect.
“Tesla is working on multiple new electric vehicle concepts that will bring the company into the future,” a Tesla spokesperson said in a statement.
“These are not announcements of the new cars.
We will continue to announce these concepts and future products as they become available.”
The company’s current range of vehicles include the Tesla Model X, the Model S and the Model X P85D, and it has also confirmed that the Model 3, the company ‘s first mass-produced electric car, will be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) later this month.
Tesla has said that the new Model 3 will be able to achieve a range in excess of 300 miles on a single charge, which is about the same range as a Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
The company also revealed that it is developing a new battery pack for the Model III, which would be capable of producing 200 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of power.
It is not yet known whether this new battery, which it said would be a “high-performance” battery, will have the same capacity as Tesla’s current pack, but its battery pack is expected to be smaller than the Model E, the smaller, more affordable version of the Model 2.
In addition to the new electric models, Tesla has also launched a range-extending electric skateboard called the Supercharger, which the company says can deliver an electric skate to a speed of up to 70 miles per hour (100 km/h).
